It was elbow to elbow on the dance floor Saturday night,
February 28th at Northern Ales. Foodstock 2015 brought the dancers out of the
woodwork from all reaches of the tri-county area. It was a standing room only
crowd for the five bands that played from two in the afternoon until nearly
midnight. A fundraiser for the Kettle Falls Food Bank, this year Foodstock
brought in $1665 and 750 pounds of food, no small feat for a little town. Music
was provided by the Borderland Blues Band, Gypsy Moon Dancers, Raptor, Stazya
and the Naturals, Planetary Refugees, The Northern Aliens, and Echo Ridge. The
audience never stopped swaying as the rhythm and genre changed throughout the
evening. From Bob Marley to Beastie Boys to Etta James to Chris Ledoux,
generations of musical style merged on the floor with the all ages crowd. For
the fourth year in a row, the community rallied for an epic show of support
that made for a great night of friends and family.
